Who we are

Sandanzas is a group made up of people in the arts, social sciences, and teaching, who in their journeys have travelled through most all of Latin America. We have all lived the majority of our lives right here, in our beloved (and sometimes hated!) Buenos Aires.

Irene: A teacher and a film and literary enthusiast. In her journeys she has travelled from Buenos Aires to Costa Rica, the Brazilian coast to Bahia, Mexico, and Guatemala in addition to having travelled through Europe. She is a lover of the north of Argentina. She speaks Portuguese and stutters in English. She is responsible for taking care of our guests and for organizing cultural activities.

Nicolás:: Photographer, in his travels he has done a lot of trekking through a large part of the Patagonia and has travelled through Australia and Europe. He is a passionate cyclist and a sailor of small boats. He speaks English and stutters in French. He is responsible for the photographs at Sandanzas.

Pablo: Sociologist, interested in Social Economics, Tourism, and Social Conflict as well as Local Development. In his journeys he has trekked through a large part of the Patagonia and travelled through the Quebrada de la Humahuaca (a narrow mountain valley in the northern province of Jujuy), Mexico, Brazil, Cuba, Guatemala, Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, and Europe. He is a lover of the Patagonia, diving, rowing, and a terrible but insistent tango dancer.

Tomás: A teacher by profession, a mime, and entertainer. In his travels he has passed through the hills and beaches of Argentina and Brazil. He stutters in English and in Spanish, but with some hand gestures can be understood. He is responsible for the smooth running of everything at Sandanzas and for the numbers...

Verónica: Artist who works in plastics, she has had expositions at cultural centers in Argentina, Cuba, and the United States. In her journeys she has travelled through the north and south of Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, and Europe. She does brushstrokes in English. She is responsible for the plastic art pieces at Sandanzas and is the coordinator of cultural activities Website
